EASTER BASKETS

These baskets use the same method of weaving as the place mats but with a twist. You can use them to gather the eggs from your very own Easter egg hunt.

Easter Basket
Basket 1

All you'll need is 2 pieces of colorful paper (pastels look great for Easter), scissors, a pencil, a ruler, glue and a stapler.

Basket 2

Using your ruler, mark down every inch until you get 7 inches, then mark down every quarter inch until you get to the end of your paper. You should do this for both color of paper you have chosen.

Basket 3

Next, cut all the small strips and one larger strip and set them aside for now. We will come back to them later for the handle and embellishments.

Basket 4

Cut the rest of the strips. Next up the fun part!

Basket 5

Start weaving over and under one strip of your contrasting color. Do so for the next piece but opposite of the previous strip.

Basket 6

Do so until you have no more strips and then make sure your work is centered. Glue every corner to make sure it stays in place for the next part.

Basket 7

Gather up all your strips from one side and staple them together. Do this for all 4 sides,

Basket 8

Your basket should finally start taking shape. Now gather up the big strips we set aside earlier.

Basket 9

Staple the handle criss-crossed in the middle. I did purple to purple and green to green but you can do whatever you feel looks better.

Basket 10

Time to embellish! gather up the mini strips we set aside and staple them to the top. Using your scissors very gently slide down the strips to curl them.

And here is the final product! You can stuff it with chocolates or use it in an Easter egg hunt, regardless your kids will love them!
